COURSE SUMMARY
Training armed forces in the law of armed conflict is a challenge that is steadily becoming more important as armed conflicts both international and internal continue to occur globally and modern weaponry becomes more capable of inflicting destruction on an ever-increasing scale. The advanced operational law cost is designed for middle and senior ranking officers in the military as well as other law enforcement agencies to see the challenges and constraints in the military operation as well as the enforcement operation and the effect of their conduct in international humanitarian law and the law of armed conflict framework. This course aims to integrate humanitarian principles, streamline decision-making processes, and disseminate knowledge of international humanitarian law for military operations.
CONCEPT
Given the complex nature of the subject matter and the target audience, the course will employ a hybrid approach combining face-to-face instruction, case studies and practical simulations. Instructors will present the core legal concepts, international humanitarian law principles, and their application to military operations as well as analysing real-world scenarios to illustrate legal challenges and decision-making processes. Expert Panels will be invited to share their perspectives.
